A man had to be air lifted to the hospital this afternoon after being run over by a semi truck.

According to officials at around 4 p.m. Wendell Police and Fire responded to J.D. Heiskell at 1999 Frontage Road.

Officers say they are considering the incident an industrial accident, as they say a man was working on a truck.

Officers say the driver then started to pull away at a slow speed not realizing the man was still there.

The man was taken to the hospital by Air St. Luke’s; officers say it appears his condition was critical.
