Community Speaks Out About Shooting Incident

By Brittany Cooper

Wednesday’s shooting in Shoshone sent shockwaves through the small community.
And today we talked with many who were shocked to hear that their friend - boss and fellow resident was shot.
The small town of Shoshone is surprised to hear about the shooting of one of their own.
One resident says, “Nobody knows why, or what it was over or nothing.”
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office - 61 year old Craig Hadden was shot while leaving his Shoshone home Wednesday morning.
He was flown to Saint Alphonsus hospital in Boise and is listed in critical condition.
The manager of the main stop who is friends with Hadden said he went to visit him at the hospital today and says Hadden had surgery last night.
Alex Hurtado says, “We are friends for 6-7 years. He helped me a lot on a lot of things. The main thing is I want to see him alive and working again.”
Hadden is known around the community for raising yaks - having a real estate business and being associated with the main stop.
Cresley McConnell says, “I was little surprised. A little town of 1,200 and 1,300 yeah I know Craig, grew up here, went to school, moved away for awhile and came back.”
Lincoln County Sheriff officials say they have several persons of interest.
However, as much as it was shocking - some residents aren't too worried.
Ellen Edenshaw says, “The lady who owns the store went up to the sheriff's office herself to find out if her girls would be safe here and he reassured there is nothing to worry about.”
