With the current economy, all of us are tightening our belts, and the same goes for the Jerome County Commissioners.

Chairman Charlie Howell says that the county commissioners agreed to take two seasonal maintenance positions and merge them into a single full time position.

He says the commissioners also want to re-organize the county maintenance department, so that all of the maintenance employees can work at all of the county facilities, which include the courthouse, the judicial annex, the airport, and the fairgrounds.

Howell says it's an attempt to cut down on outside expenses, as well as becoming more efficient.
