A two motorcycle accident on the Oakley highway yesterday has taken one life and sent another to the hospital.

According to the Cassia County Sheriff's Department, Clint Smith of Oakley and Larry Hooper of Twin Falls, were riding south on Highway 27, near 1350 South, when for reasons still unknown, Smith gripped the brakes and Hooper did not have time to stop, resulting in both riders being thrown from their motorcycles and into the barrow pit.

Smith died and Hooper was taken to Cassia Regional Hospital. It is believed that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
