3 Cases Still Under Investigation

By B. Baeza

Its been three months since the body of 41 year old Lisa Round of Twin Falls was found in a hotel on Addison Avenue.
Captain Matt Hicks with the Twin Falls PD says "the case at the el rancho that occurred last February is progressing and right now we're awaiting the analysis of evidence recovered their by the state laboratory."
Rounds death is being held as suspicious but until all evidence is thoroughly looked at Captain Hicks says they won't rule anything out.
"Part of the delay why its taking so long to resolve this is examination of that evidence."
Captain Hicks says investigators are not in a big hurry to solve the case because they don't want to rush through it possibly missing something, because they only have one shot at it.
Hicks "we know we have one opportunity to find out what happened in that room and we think we owe it to the victim and the victims family to find out exactly why and get it right the first time."
In a similar case several weeks ago 35 year old Robert Wilson was found dead in his home after emergency crews responded to an early morning fire in Kimberly.
We spoke with Kimberly Police, and they told us they are still waiting on lap work from the autopsy. The investigator told us they're basically at a stand still with the case. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Captain Hicks says investigators will often through out the year conduct what is called unattended death investigations. Where the cause of death is no so clear. he says investigators, the coroner and prosecutors office will work closely together on cases like this.
"Often times those cases while they don't apparently have any criminal cause behind them they often take a long time to resolve, just because of the examination of evidence and making sure we talked with every appropriate person with the case."
