A Mexican citizen is scheduled to go on trial in Gooding County for first degree murder in less than a month. Jesus Valencia–Bolanos was originally charged in November 2007 in the death of 30 year old Gustavo Flores–Quintana. At the time he was also charged with the theft of Quintana’s vehicle.

In January of this year, both of those charges were dismissed at the request of the Gooding County prosecutor. Then in February, first degree murder charges were re-filed against Bolanos, who was being held on a witness bond so he couldn't be deported to Mexico.

A pretrial conference is set for later this month, and a jury trial is scheduled to begin on July 14th.
