It's been a long time coming but it's finally official; the Twin Falls Wal-Mart store is now open.

Wal-Mart held its grand opening and officially opened it's doors at 8 am Wednesday morning. Store representatives handed out more than $37,000 in donations and grants to 20 local organizations.

Store Manager Crystal Lilya says, “We were able to donate to the community, we did through our Volunteerism Always Pays, about nine thousand dollars, 900 hours, the associates donated their time. And then the company actually gives money for that to the community, to that organization.”

Wal-Mart donated five thousand dollars each to the Idaho Food Bank and the Snake River Canyon Jam, and roughly three thousand dollars each to the Boys and Girls Club, the Crisis Center of Magic Valley and Valley House Homeless Shelter. The 196 thousand square foot store at 252 West Cheney Drive will provide 350 jobs.
