There's been a steady increase in the volume of traffic leaving town, as people head for the hills and other locations for the Fourth of July weekend. Officials with Idaho AAA predict a slight increase in the number of Idahoans going somewhere 50 miles or more away over the weekend, as compared to last year at this time.

Many Magic Valley residents use the Fourth of July to go to the Sawtooth National Recreation area or the South Hills to do camping with family and friends. Unfortunately that also means an increased chance of human caused wildfires, and both BLM and Forest Service firefighters are on standby.
