Day 4 of the Twin Falls County Fair

Filer

By Rachael Giffoni

C3 is out at the Twin Falls County Fair – holding a job fair.
And in addition to lots of different kinds of food and products - you can also see plenty of different hobbies on display, as well.

The Magic Valley Model Railroaders have come to the Twin Falls County Fair for 21 years now.

If you haven't seen their exhibit in three or four years - they've taken over the rest of the building they've been in - with even more model trains.

Magic Valley Model Railroaders President Karl Corbin said, “In 2008, we got the other room where we're featuring the N scale layout. It's a little bit smaller than the HO that's here in this room presently.”

Corbin says there are 600 to 800 feet of track in the HO scale setup in the south room of the railroad building at the fairgrounds - and about 500 feet of N scale track in the north end of the building.

Kennadey Smith, who likes trains, said, “It's impressive because it's so hard for people to make 'em.”

Another train fan in Kierra Anderson, who said, “And they make every detail almost right, like, y'know.”
Corbin says the Magic Valley Model Railroaders offer tours of their display for schools and other organizations.

He says it's an attempt to help children learn about the hobby - and to bring new people into it. If you'd like to get ahold of the Model Railroaders Club - you can call Karl at 420-2151.

Karl said, “And I just got so enthused over it from that time on. I've been in model railroad, started with O gauge and American Flyer to HO to N scale. N scale's my favorite because it's so detailed, really reflects so much more you can see.”
