Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) This Tuesday, 5 girl scouts from Troop 21 in Jerome received the highest honor a junior scout can receive...

All 5 were awarded the bronze star for their efforts in supporting the Wounded Warriors of the Magic Valley.

Over the past year, the 5 junior scouts have been collecting socks and scarves to donate to the veterans organization.

In total the girls collected 117 pairs of socks and 19 scarves to donate to the Wounded Warriors.

On Tuesday the girls presented their sock collection to the Wounded Warriors and ceremoniously received their bronze stars awards.

“I’m just elated… this is the small town stuff that when somebody is feeling all hope is lost for America… this is the stuff that brings it back.” Said VFW Post 3001 Commander, David Luper

Each pair of socks were tagged with the stickers that say who and where the socks came from.

From here, they will be distributed to wounded warriors all over the state.
