A Magic Valley woman was sentenced on drug charges. On March 22nd Brandi Ann Havens, 34, of Buhl was pulled over by police, who found methamphetamine in her car.

On March 31st, a Twin Falls County Sheriff's Deputy found that Havens had hidden just over two grams of meth inside her body, had smuggled it into the jail and had used it there. Havens was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Two months ago she pled guilty to those charges.

Monday, the prosecuting attorney said that havens had four previous felonies in Nevada. Haven's defense attorney indicated that Nevada doesn't have any kind of drug treatment programs for prisoners.

Fifth District Judge Richard Bevan sentenced havens to a maximum of seven years in prison with a minimum of a year and a half. The sentences for both charges will run at the same time.

Bevan also retained jurisdiction in Havens' case and sent her on a six month rider program.
