Micron to slash more jobs in Treasure Valley

There’s a lot of turmoil and uncertainty as it relates to jobs in Idaho which are tied to the computer industry. Micron Technology, which was one Idaho’s biggest private employers, is shutting down their fabrication plant in Boise.

It's estimated by early next month Micron will have laid off 3500 people since last October, leaving only 5200 workers at it's large computer chip manufacturing facility in Boise. Displacing Micron as Idaho’s largest private employers are Wal-Mart, and St. Luke’s Health System with hospitals in Boise - Meridian - Twin Falls - Hailey and other locations in the state.
