The last of four stages of road to be reconstructed and realigned in Cassia County will be complete this fall. It's a mile of the City of Rocks Backcountry Byway, south of Elba.

Boise Western Construction Incorporation was awarded the contact to build the $1.4 million final stage; preliminary work on stage four began on Tuesday.

Officials say the work should be complete before November 1st.

Crews will replace culverts and widen the roadway in preparation for final paving, which is expected to take place in late October.
