It’s no doubt that the Basque culture is a large part of Idaho’s history.
This evening that history was celebrated in Shoshone with a tour of the old Basque boarding house along with a dinner.

As part of the Lincoln County Historical Societies Horizon project, a presentation on Basque history in Shoshone was given by guest speaker Boise State University Professor Doctor John Bieter.

After the presentation about 80 people were invited to tour the old Basque boarding house. It was renovated by a private individual. On a side note, the owner says room 10 on the top floor is inhabited by a ghost.
