A truck pulling a fuel tanker over turned while trying to make a u-turn just before the 141 Exit over pass on Highway 26.
The accident has caused a gas station and school to close, and forced evacuations of some homes and a motel, as precaution.
Shortly after 6am crews were called to the Bliss Exit. According to Idaho State Police the driver tried to make a u-turn which caused the pin connecting the trailer to the truck to break.
The trailer overturned near the east bound off ramp. Hazmat crews have been working most of the morning to clear the site.
According to ISP what fuel has spilled is being absorbed by sand and not threatening water supply. The tanker had to be drained before it could be moved.
The truck did not overturn and the driver did not sustain any injuries.
