AMERICAN FALLS, Idaho (AP) _ The Power County Commission has
approved an ordinance that helps clear the way for wind power
developers.

The new ordinance requires that each turbine be issued a
building permit and a single use permit is required for the entire
project.

The Idaho State Journal reports the new ordinance comes in
response to a pair of wind power projects being considered for the
rural eastern Idaho county.

One company, Ridgeline Energy, has applied for permits to build
a 66-turbine wind farm across 900 acres of land between American
Falls and Rockland.
