Manuel Salinas Castro, 34, was charged with three counts of felony injury to a child after burning the hands of his nephew and his daughter on a cooking stove. Police say that Castro was disciplining the children for playing with light switches.

Castro pled "not" guilty to all three charges; but in a plea bargain, Castro agreed to plead guilty to misdemeanor versions of the three counts of injury to a child.

The case was sent from district court back to the lower magistrate court for the amended charges to be filed. The trial was originally scheduled to begin today.

Instead, he will enter a plea and be sentenced in Gooding County Magistrate Court at 8:15 am Monday, November 2nd.
