These days teens do more than just pass notes in class and gossip in the hallways; with technology now embedded in nearly every part of our existance, the way kids bully others has evolved as well. That's why the Burley School District has updated it's policy against bullying.

Superintendent Gaylen Smyer says student harassment has gone "way" beyond passing notes. He says thanks to advances in technology - pictures can be posted on the internet or sent from phone to phone.

The new policy defines 'cyber bullying' as the use of any electronic communications device - to send messages in any format that intimidates or intends harm to another person.

The rule also applies to messages that originate outside of the school buildings.
