The 'Peace Officer Standards and Training' Board was scheduled to vote Tuesday, on whether Twin Falls County Sheriff Tom Carter's POST Certification.

POST Council Officer James Desmond recommended that Carter's certification should be pulled. All Idaho peace officers are required to be POST certified, but elected officials, including sheriffs, don't have to hold that certification.

Now the POST Board won't vote on the matter until February at the earliest.

Former Sheriff Wayne Tousley fired Carter about three years ago, after saying that Carter didn't document his sick leave or tell supervisors he was going home on those nights.

Carter beat Tousley by a landslide a year ago, and says he would like to see this matter resolved, but says he understands the delay.
