Unlike last year’s general elections, this year’s local elections are looking, well slow. In fact Twin Falls city officials say they were not expecting a whole lot.

Julie Pence, Twin Falls Public Information Officer says, "I think we could have predicted because the absentee ballot according to deputy city clerk Sharan Brayant are about half of what they were 2 years ago in the last election."

One of the reasons turn out may be slow is because there are no real hotly debated topics, there is only one city council seat that is contested.

In Jerome county residents are look at voting for a new jail but election officials say it was pretty slow most of the day.

As far as Twin Falls goes it’s been a slow trickle of people voting. One precinct volunteer said they had seen mainly senior citizens voting. For the most part election volunteers have had to sit and wait patiently.
