Police say just over four months ago in late June, William Stirling Teeter, 50, of Burley was mowing his lawn, when he pulled a semi-automatic pistol on a 13 year old neighbor boy.

The boy walked into Teeter's yard to retrieve a ball that had rolled onto Teeter's property. Teeter says he drew his gun to shoot the ball and was charged with felony aggravated assault.

Teeter pled guilty to misdemeanor exhibition of a weapon. Magistrate Judge Rick Boller sentenced teeter to six months in jail, and then gave him credit for one day served and suspended the sentence.

Teeter paid a $200 fine and will serve one year of supervised probation.
