Wendell mayor decided by coin toss

It came down to the flip of a coin to decide who would become mayor of Wendell. Brad Christopherson and incumbent Ricky Cowen were tied for votes at 215 a piece in Tuesday’s election.

Christopherson won the coin toss and takes the mayor's seat this coming January. He is a former councilman and is an owner of a towing service.

Cowen has been the mayor of Wendell for two years after being appointed by the city council in 2007 when then mayor Rex Strickland was recalled.
