Local Soldier Injured in Fort Hood Shootings

A soldier from Twin Falls is in stable condition after being shot 6 times Thursday at Fort Hood, Texas.

The family of Shawn Manning sent out a release this afternoon saying he is still hospitalized.

Staff Sergeant Manning has served in the Army since 2000 and has served two times in Iraq. He had been call back to serve a third tour. He serves in the Combat Stress Unit for the 4–67 THS medical detachment unit.

Staff Sergeant Manning was born in Twin Falls and went to school in Jerome and Twin Falls. He also attended Idaho State University.
He still has family in the Magic Valley.
