Holiday parking in downtown Twin Falls

By Jay Michaels

Twin Falls city staff member Melinda Anderson says the parking coordinator has been giving out a few more warnings in downtown Twin Falls recently.

Thursday, Anderson asked Business Improvement District board members to talk with neighboring business owners and have them ask their employees, to not park in customer parking spaces or three hour parking.

Instead, they'd be encouraged to park in leased parking lots, or parking spaces with no time limit. Anderson says that would leave metered spaces and three hour areas in city parking lots open for customers.

She says with upcoming holiday shopping, the parking meters downtown will be covered with plastic bags that provide free parking for the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving, and every Saturday through the end of December.
