EMS services again an issue for Jackson area residents in Minidoka Co.

Currently Cassia counties dispatch services handles calls from that area; Minidoka County Emergency Services, however, responds to the area.
Some residences are requesting that Cassia allow Minidoka to handle the dispatch services.
The commissioners asked the Cassia County Sheriff for more information and will look into the possibilities of a switch.
Also, the Cassia and Minidoka county commissioners met to discuss the joint effort for a proposed federal prison near Raft River.
A representative with US Geothermal Incorporated was also there. There are still a number of questions about the proposed facility.
One of the most asked according to commissioners is where the prison would be built exactly; but that still remains to be seen.
The representative of the geothermal plant said the plant could provide heating to the facility as well as cooling.
