16 year old Michael Cannon of Shoshone is charged with attempted murder and use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony.

The charges stem from the April 1st, 2009 shooting of Craig Hadden of Shoshone, who says he was shot four times that morning outside his home north east of Shoshone.

Cannon pled not guilty to the charges in August. Monday, Fifth District Judge Richard Bevan held a telephone conference in his chambers in Twin Falls.

Cannon's defense attorney says that negotiations for a plea bargain agreement didn't really go anywhere.

Judge Bevan told the attorneys in the case to finalize their jury questionnaires so they'd be ready for their next hearing on December 16th.

A pre-trial conference will be held on December 28th, and Cannon's five day trial will begin at 9 am on Monday, January 4th, 2010.
