The state's largest utility says power is
back on for most of the 17,000 customers left in the dark during an
outage that started Thursday night in the Wood River area.

Idaho Power said late Friday that electricity had been restored
to all but 2,773 customers.

Customers in a region that stretched from Shoshone to Ketchum in
south-central Idaho lost power at about 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
By Friday afternoon, power was restored to about 10,000 of those
customers.

Company spokeswoman Stephanie McCurdy says extra crews were
pulled in from Twin Falls to help repair fallen wires and the cause
of the outage is under investigation.
