Fifth District Judge Barry Wood was officially recognized for his more than 22 years of service on the bench.

Wood began his career as a magistrate judge in Lincoln County, where he served a total of eight years. He says he then served as a judge in Gooding County for another 15 years.

An open house was held at the Gooding Country Club; friends and co-workers gathered to wish judge wood well on his retirement.

In recent years, wood has also presided over cases in other southern Idaho locations including Minidoka County.

Two new judges will be sworn into office early next year, they are Jonathon P. Brody and Eric J. Wildman.
