Man charged with first degree murder dies before trial

A Jerome man charged with first degree murder has died. The Jerome County Sheriff says 74 Fortino Leon died while at the state hospital in Blackfoot, Idaho on Wednesday.

Leon had been in a coma and died as a result of health related issues.

Leon was charged after he was accused of killing his wife's boyfriend and then shot her.

Leon also faced charges of aggravated battery and aggravated assault.
