Just after 9:30sunday morning, members of the Rock Creek Volunteer Fire District responded to a house fire in Kimberly; the fire was at 341 Birch Street South in Kimberly.
Fire Chief Mike Hendricks says no one was in the house at the time. Hendricks found the fire in the basement; he says the fire came up through the floor and got into the walls.
The homeowner had been remodeling the house and multiple ceilings made the fire hard to fight.
Hendricks says the fire was under control by 1:45 pm, and was declared out by just after 3:30 pm.
Hendricks says he probably won't have the state fire marshal inspect the house because right now it looks like this was an accidental fire.
He wants to thank the Twin Falls and Salmon Tract Fire Departments for providing backup support during yesterday's fire.
