Wood waste recycling center open for season

The Twin Falls Clean Wood Waste Diversion and Recycling Facility, on Rose Street, is now open for the season.

"I'm always out here when I have something to drop off..."

Lloyd, who is a Twin Fall resident, is locked in a battle with some stubborn branches. He's taking advantage of the Twin Falls Wood-Waste Recycling Facility, which is open for the season.

City Utilities Services Director Sherry Jeff says, "It keeps all that bulk out of the landfill, to preserve the life of the landfill, and that's what this is all about."

The facility turns clean wood - into wood chips.

Only City of Twin Falls residential households are allowed to drop off wood, with a bit of proof.

Leon Smith, Wood Waste Recycling says, "It's restricted to residential water users with a sanitation charge on their water bill, Twin Falls residents will have a water bill.

The facility is open certain days, mainly on Wednesdays from 10-2 and the first Saturday of every month.

But there are exceptions; and only certain materials are allowed.

For a complete list of times and materials, there's a list.

As for Lloyd, he'll be back again taking advantage of what many say is a win - win situation for residents, and the city.
