Beede's trial for injury to a child faces another delay

The case of a Buhl man facing ten counts of injury to a child encountered more delays. A year ago in January, Scott Lee Beede, 27, of Buhl was indicted on ten counts of felony injury to a child.

Those charges stem from incidents which took place in the middle of august 2008; the five children ranged in age from five to 16 years old.

Court records say that Beede put two girls in a cooler and sat on the lid, along with choking them, had an eight year old boy take a bath in water that burned the boy's skin and shot two other boys with a bb gun.

Last April, Beede pled not guilty to all ten counts and his trial was scheduled to begin on three different dates. The first was set for September First last year, and the second was Tuesday, March 9th. The second trial date was postponed until March 23rd, and the third is scheduled for April 20th.

Monday's pre-trial hearing was postponed because one of the attorneys had a family medical emergency, and couldn't attend the hearing.

District Judge Richard Bevan wasn't sure when the hearing could be rescheduled, and said it could be two weeks from Monday.
