A family of six lost their home to a fire in Wendell Tuesday afternoon. The fire occurred around one p.m. at 2735 South and 1500 East in Wendell.

According to the owner, Margaret Verbree, two of the six tenants were home at the time of the blaze. Verbree says the fire allegedly started in the basement of the home involving the heater.

Fortunately no one was hurt, but the house is a total loss. She says the tenants had been living there for about a year and a half and now they're staying with neighbors.
