Rules on Yard Sale signs

Now that it's warming up you may be doing some spring cleaning, and hosting some yard sales; but, residents who plan on hosting yard sales need to obey the ordinance that determines where to place signs.

City Code Enforcement Officer Sean Standley says, "We want people to have yard sales if they want to have them. They just need to keep the signs on private property with the permission of the property owner. And also, keep in mind, they can only have yard sale for ten days, and at that time, they need to tear everything down."

Some other rules are, the signs can't be posted earlier than 12 pm the day before, and must be taken down 12 pm the day after.

Signs can't be placed any closer than 60 feet next to another sign, and need to be at least ten feet away from the street pavement.

They also can't be larger than six square feet in area.
