Increased DUI enforcement state wide

Law enforcement agencies in the area are increasing their DUI surveillance through Monday, March 22nd. The state-wide special emphasis campaign against impaired driving begins tomorrow.
According to the office of highway safety, the goal is to reduce vehicle-related deaths and serious injuries that are caused by impaired drivers.
In order to do this, there will be more law enforcement on the streets and arrests of drunk drivers.
2008 statistics show that in Twin Falls, there were two fatalities and 37 people injured due to 45 impaired driving crashes; and in the county that same year, 104 impaired crashes resulted in five deaths and 79 injuries.
