03/12/10

An early morning fire burned a hole in the roof of a house in Jerome Friday; fire fighters responded to a call just before 6 in the morning.

Witnesses said that the roof of the house at 934 Fourth Avenue Drive was on fire. All of the occupants made it out safely.

The fire appeared to have involved the chimney, and a neighbor said that the residence had a wood stove.

Dispatchers said the fire was put out rather quickly and that the fire fighters weren't out on the call for very long.

There's no estimate of damages yet.
