BOISE, Idaho (AP) _ Statewide elected officials would see a 4
percent pay cut under a bill meant to show solidarity with state
workers and teachers who are facing furloughs and layoffs amid dour
economy.
Under a measure in the House, the candidate who wins the
November general election for governor would get $110,734 annually
starting Jan. 1, 2011, down from this year's $115,348 salary.
The lieutenant governor's salary would be $29,184, from $30,400.
Annual pay for the secretary of state, state treasurer, superintendent of public instruction and controller would be $90,006, from $93,746.
Meanwhile, the salary for the attorney general would be $99,825,
from $103,984.
Pay for constitutional officers would return to this year's levels on Jan. 1, 2012.
The governor's salary in 2013 would rise to $121,000 annually,
with other officers paid based on a percentage of the chief
executive's pay.
