Twin Falls, Idaho - The Fourth of July Fireworks celebration will be held on the 5th, which is a Monday. City council approved the shift, which includes all the festivities that take place on the College of Southern Idaho campus earlier in the afternoon.

Fireworks are stilled planned to go off at 10 that evening. The Twin Falls Police Department has come up with a plan for the two days, which would be a little different than usual.

Staff Sgt. Dannis Pullin, TFPD, says "The one thing we're looking at is we'll have extra officers coming in, for the actual 4th of July, due to the calls for service that we received, which is a lot of noise complaints, and disturbances."

Pullin says that will mean a little extra cost for both days, a total a little more than 4,000; that would mean around $700 for over time pay for extra officers to guide traffic and answer calls.

Pullin says, "We always have extra people come in for the 4th of July anyway, were just foreseeing that we might have some issues if celebrating on the 5th, we want to be prepared if we have officer in to handle those calls for service, we'll be ok."

Pullin says the over time cost isn’t much and fits into the patrol divisions overtime budget.
