Authorities release name of drowning victim

Authorities have released the name of the drowning victim we told you about last night.

Gooding County Sheriff Shaun Gough says that 42-year old Lazaro Ramirez-Vasquez of Jerome was at Box Canyon Springs Preserve with family and friends taking pictures, when he slipped on a rock and fell into the fast moving water.

The incident was reported around 7:30 last night, but due to darkness his body wasn't recovered until 11:30 this morning. Gough says that the park is between Buhl and Wendell.

Gooding Search and Rescue, Twin Falls Search and Rescue and Hagerman Fire Department all helped with the efforts.
