Teen sentenced for drinking and driving; liquor store smash-in suspects bound over for trial

Twin Falls, Idaho - Monday morning, a Twin Falls teen was handed his sentence for drinking and driving.

18 year old David Torres was sentenced on a charge of driving under the influence after he had driven his car into a Paul home last September. His girlfriend and their infant child, just days old, was in the vehicle with him.

The judge sent Torrez on a 180 day rider program, with an underlying term of 10 years maximum with 4 years fixed.

In other court news, 4 Twin Falls residents charged with using a stolen vehicle to break into a liquor store in Twin Falls, are being bound over for trial in 5th District Court.

20-year old Kristopher McKean, 19-year old Kristan McKean, 19-year old Brina Krohn, and 18-year old Megan Marovich are facing a variety of charges including burglary - grand theft - and malicious injury to property.

Kristopher McKean also faces charges of criminal solicitation and intimidating a witness.

Police say the four adults, along with two unidentified minors, used a pole to press down on the accelerator of a car to ram through the entrance to a state liquor store on Kimberly Road on May 20th; the adults are scheduled to be arraigned in the next couple of weeks.

Meantime, a magistrate judge has ruled there is sufficient evidence to bind a local man over for trial; 37-year old Erik R. Jonsson of Twin Falls is charged with attempted grand theft and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon; after police say he tried to repossess a riding lawnmower earlier this month.

A report shows law enforcement officers responded to a location on Creek View Drive in Twin Falls where Jonsson had allegedly pulled a gun on a resident during a confrontation; Jonsson will be arraigned on July 6th.
