An accidental set-off of a firework has lead to a chain reaction that's injured three firefighters, and resulted in the cancellation of Mountain Home's fireworks display.

The fireworks for Mountain Home have been cancelled for tomorrow's 4th of July celebration.

Around 1:20 this afternoon, when firefighters were preparing for the annual display - one of the shells exploded in one of the firefighter's hands.

Once the initial shell went off - it caused a chain reaction which set off 75% of the fireworks. Two firefighters injured were treated and released. Another remains in stable condition.

It's believed static electricity caused the explosion, but the incident is still under investigation.
