A New Look For Twin Falls High School

By Joey Martin

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) This summer the Twin Falls School District is taking this year's summer break as an opportunity to re–new and re–vamp a few athletic facilities.

Over at Twin falls High School a few projects are just getting underway.

Over the next few weeks crews will be working on fixing the cracks and resurfacing the schools track facility.

Over the last 3 years, the School Districts Maintenance fund has taken a huge cut.

Meaning that the maintenance work on the track had been thrown on the back burner.

But this year, the district realized that if they wait any longer to make the necessary repairs the cost of replacing the track would have skyrocketed.

And according to Kirk Bower from the Twin Falls School District, it was the right time to take action.

“By doing this we can save a lot of money down the road. The condition it’s in… you know it becomes very costly when the track is beyond repair”.

The entire $61,000 project is scheduled to last about 2 weeks.

And to go along with the new track, crews are also installing new handicap accessible ramps on the visitors' side of the football field.

And crews will also continue to replace the old wooden fence that encircled the football field with a brand new chain link fence.
