A Portion Of Third Street In Jerome To Remain Closed Until April

By Paul Johnson

Jerome, Idaho (KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV) Officials with the city of Jerome announced today that the closure of a portion of 3rd street has been extended. Before the extreme cold temperatures hit the area, crews were working to replace the Water Main and irrigation lines. According to the City of Jerome's website, they are not able to properly compact the trench until back fill materials thaw. Crews will continue to trench and lay pipe. Because of the delay, the city say the road between North Birch Street and North Lincoln street will remain closed until April of this year. The road extends the length of the Jerome School District offices on one side and empty land where the old central Elementary was demolished several years ago.
