Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV )
The annual Twin Falls fireworks are set to take place at the College of Southern Idaho this evening.
It's that time of year, when all eyes are on the sky.
There are many different reasons the 4th of July is loved by residents of the Magic Valley.
Pyrotechnics have been preparing for the Twin Falls fireworks display since the second.
Head pyrotechnic Neil Christensen says, "We have to assemble everything together, individual racks that we put tubes in and we have to put shells in each one and with each one individually so it's a lot of work."
Now this year you may notice some changes from last year, there was less money raised so that means about half the amount of fireworks.
Christensen adds, "some shows are bigger than others depending on how much money we've raised. Unfortunately this isn't a year that we raised a lot of money so it's not as big of a show.”
But with 12,000 dollars raised and 2,000 individual effects this year, residents are still excited for the yearly event.
And pyrotechnic Neil Christensen promises a good show.
Gearing up for a display of patriotism.
