Area Families Celebrate New Homes
Kimberly, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Six months ago, area families began work on their new home in Kimberly.
And on Saturday, those four families are able to enjoy every minute of owning their new home. The homeowners worked with South Central Community Action Partnerships' Self–Help program. Homeowners built their houses from the ground up. New homeowner Alec Koepnik says, "I feel good. I feel successful. To be to be a part of this, to help out and be a good member of society, to give back what I've taken." "If it wasn't for this program, I would have never been able to own my home, at least not anytime soon. So it definitely opened up the doors for this opportunity," adds Whitney Kent, a new homeowner. The state USDA Rural Development Director also came down from Boise to present the homeowners with a flag. If you're interested in checking out the homes, they're located behind Artic Circle.
