Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The 3rd annual Art and Soul of the Magic Valley art contest is a little more than a month away.
On Friday the contest got a little jump start with a ceremonial ribbon cutting party over at the official Art and Soul gallery.
According to contest officials, Art and Soul is one of the biggest contests of its kind in the Pacific Northwest.
Which includes cash prizes totaling well over $30,000.
With the top spot bringing home a $10,000 grand prize.
The contest gives local artist and art lovers the opportunity to experience the ever growing art world in the Twin Falls community.
The actual contest will be held April 19th until May 4th.
"One of the things that we want to do is bring art to the community in a way that's easy for people to see art, easy for people to engage in art. So you don't have to be a professional artist to join the competition. We want business to realize that by showing a piece of art in their business, people will come in and shop in their stores and see what they have to offer. It's truly all about the community."
