Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) Spring is just around the corner, and autism activists are going to take full advantage of the spring weather.
Volunteers from all over the Magic Valley will walk around St. Luke's Hospital to raise money for autism awareness.
Last year was their first year hosting the event. About two hundred people walked last year.
Registration is 25 dollars.
All donations will go to the St. Luke's autism program.
The organizers think the event will help raise awareness in the community.
“We want to bring awareness to the Magic Valley about autism, so during the event, we also have signs or posters that basically give additional information about autism,” explains Amy Starr, an organizer of the autism walk.
“Just to show how proud we are to be a part of the autism community. I'm a very, very proud mom of an autistic son, and I'm proud to be a part of the autistic community here in Twin Falls,” adds fellow organizer Karee Conner.
