Mountain Home, Idaho (KMVT-TV) We are following a breaking news story out of Mountain Home this evening. At this time it appears a vehicle’s blown tire in the westbound lanes of I-84 near mile post 81 has started a brush fire. Bureau of Land Management crews along with fire departments in the nearby area have responded to the blaze. Traffic in the westbound lanes between Milepost 90 and 74 are being slowed and possibly may be closed for a brief time. Also, traffic on Highway 30 has been slowed. At one point crews were concerned the fire could threaten some homes in a nearby neighborhood, but it appears the blaze has been controlled in that area. Right now, Bureau of Land Management crews have several tankers and air support working the blaze. At this time KMVT news does not have any reports of injuries.
