Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) You can buy a book for local Head Start children at Barnes and Noble in Twin Falls during the next two weeks.

The early childhood education students at the College of Southern Idaho have teamed up with the University of Idaho and Barnes and Noble for this book drive. When customers go to check out, the clerks will ask if they want to buy a book for local Head Start kids.

Rosanna Campbell, Supervisor of the Head Start Center, says, "Reading books together with their parents provides that opportunity for attachment and reading is very key to school readiness and success in education."

Last year, the program gathered 600 books for local children. There are almost 150 Head Start kids inside the Twin Falls city limits, and most of them will receive two books.

Nationwide, Barnes and Noble helped donate almost two million books last year alone.
