Barnes and Noble Customers Can Buy Kids Books For CASA

By Jay Michaels

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Those of us who love books love to give books for Christmas gifts.

Court Appointed Special Advocates is teaming up with Barnes and Noble and their customers to buy books for kids in the CASA program. You can take a gift tag from the in-store display, pick out a book, and buy it. Then Barnes and Noble will deliver the book for you.

Deby Johnson with Barnes and Noble says, "Most of the customers say yes. We give them a little book plate, and they put a little thank you on there, whatever they want to do. And then the book goes to the child."

Johnson says the annual program also benefits the College of Southern Idaho's "Read and Feed" program, in cooperation with Idaho State University in Pocatello. She says this year's goal is 700 books, and she's sure they'll exceed that number.
